UNITY IN CHRIST

I beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Make ever effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been created to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith one baptiism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ.
 Ephesians 4

As we journey through this life we encounter many types of people. Wether they be strangers, friends, family or neighbors we must try to maintain our obedience to God in how we treat others. Have you ever come across someone who knows it all? Maybe someone who puts themselves first? Even someone who says one thing but does another? These are the times when our TRUE faith can be a testimony to others. So many "christians" I have had pass through my life have knowledge of christian living but when difficult times come they seem to lack the deep roots that one needs to really be an example of what the Bible says we should be.... I am determined not to be one of these. I don't want to find myself unaccepting of others because they are not exactly like me. I have been working hard on this and what my expectations might be but accepting what God has for me and others even when it is different....I have stepped out of the box and let God use me.

When we all come to a unity in our faith and knowledge  of God's son we will then be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be tossed and blown about by evey wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead we will speak the truth in LOVE, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of the body, the church. He makes the whole body fit perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
Ephesians 4

I have been reflecting on my own life and being convicted to share Gods love. You never know who will be blessed by a simple kindness, a simple word of encouragement, or just taking sometime with someone who is having a hard time. We get so busy with our lives doing what we think God wants but we must remember to take time to listen to God. We must gaurd our thoughts and our tounge. There is a song I play for my grandchildren about the tounge and how it cuts like a knife it is from Go to the Ants tape my kids had when they were little it is a great reminder. We cannot change people only God can but we must be resposible for the words that come out of our mouth, we can change us with Gods help.
~~~~As we journey through life may God bless and keep us all~~~~
Oh wow, great post and really hits home. You sound like a Joyce Meyer CD I am listening to in my car as I drive to work each day. I am working on "minding my mouth" or rather I should say I am praying for God to "mind my mouth" because I can say some pretty amazingly stupid and un-God-like things, especially when my emotions take over. I am going to re-read Ephesians 4 this afternoon. Thanks for this post!
