SPLIT ROCK LIGHTHOUSE

We took the tour this time. It was a little slow but we got the history of how it all came together.
Sometimes it is hard to remember this is a lake.

This is a popular tourist destination so there were lots of people and the walk up was a tight fit.

We also toured the home of the light house keeper. Not sure where those pictures are. They were using a real would burning oven. My dream kitchen. The pantry was so cool. Still not sure what happened to the pics.. Maybe I forgot to take them. Lol.

I'm a light house lover too. Those people had hard, lonely lives living out there so isolated during the winter months. Have you visited Door County in Wisconsin? They have lots to see and several good light houses. I was in Maine a few years ago and got some wonderful pics there as well. You kiddos sure stay busy!
