BIRTHDAY GIRL

Miss H is 2 years old today. We will be having a party for her on Sunday. She is so excited to be a big girl. Some of her favorite things to do are follow her brother around and copy everything he does. She loves to wash dishes with grandma and help me bake. I think sometimes I have the smartest and cutest grandchildren but then every grandmother thinks that. They are growing up fast. I am looking forward to this journey And am trusting God to help me through.

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY

When I Think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your HEART as you TRUST in him. Your ROOTS will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Actions Speak louder then Words. May we live our life as God wants us to and not just talk like we will. It is simple we can have all the knowledge in our Head but until it reaches our Heart it will not manifest itself into our living life.

Just a little thought today.

As I was having my devotions this morning I came across these verses in Ephesians
4:22 since you heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from Him, 22. Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes .24. Put on your new nature, created to be like God, -- truly righteous and holy.
26. And don't sin by letting anger control you. Don't let the sun go down while your still angry, 27. For anger gives a foothold to the devil.
29.....let EVERYTHING you say be good and helpful, so that the words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
31. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types if evil behavior.32. Instead be kind to each other, tender hearted forgiving one another, just as God through Jesus Christ has forgiven you.
Lets be imitators of God!

MAKING A CAKE

Master H came to Grammys for an overnight visit. I have been gone the last few months taking care of my dad and the passing of both my parents. It has been very difficult for the Minnesota grandchildren. They don't understand why Grammy has to be gone so long. I came home for a week and then had to return after my dad got worse and of course his funeral. When I returned it was time to get ready for Grandpas birthday and the overnight visits that were promised on my return. The grand kids love to bake so Master H and I made grandpa a birthday cake , yellow, with chocolate frosting. Here are a few pictures of the tasting process. Master H enjoyed some outdoor time with grandpa. We have 3 feet of snow. He also tried to walk in grandpas shoes. The next week Miss E came for her overnight. She got sick so we will have to do it again soon.

MISSING YOU

Happy Birthday Dad!

 

 

You have been gone almost a month now but the pain is still deep of losing you. I know you are happy with the Lord in heaven and you no longer suffer, that brings me a little comfort. I find myself wanting to call you today to find out what you will be doing for your birthday, but I can't. It will be awhile, for me, before I can get use to you being gone.I am so thankful for thhose last months we had together. I got to know you so much better. Those moments we shared and the things you said were so special to me. You did the best you could and I will be forever grateful. I love you and I miss you.

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

 

 

The Footprints Prayer is an inspirational poem about having faith in God. Also known as

 

"Footprints in the Sand", this prayer shows how God is always with us, especially in times of need.

 

The Footprints Prayer

 

One night I had a dream..

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and

Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;

One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before us,

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that many times along the path of my life,

There was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest

and saddest times in my life

This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,

You would walk with me all the way;

But I have noticed that during the

most troublesome times in my life,

There is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why in times when I

needed you most, you should leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious

child. I love you, and I would never,

never leave you during your times of

trial and suffering.

When you saw only one set of footprints,

It was then that I carried you."

 

 

This was a favorite of my dads. I read it at his memorial service. He had many challenges in his life and remained faithful to God and his family. I believe he found comfort in knowing

God remained faithful to him even when he felt alone.

It has also brought me great comfort knowing that even when people who you think you can count on, fail you, there is always God who never fails you . He accepts you as you are and stays with you no matter what choices you make as long as you keep your heart open to his calling. You dont have to earn His favor in order to be part of His family. He will never leave us or forsake us.

As my father said in the last months of his life while I was caring for him..".Alice I wouldn't want you any other way than to be yourself."We had some great times in those moments just the two of us

those "memories" will last me a lifetime..
